  1. How To Enter. The "Name the Rocket" Brewster Rockit: Space Guy! Contest (the "Promotion") begins at 12:00:00 a.m. Pacific Time ("PT") on June 23, 2006 and all entries must be received by 4:59:59 p.m. PT on August 26, 2006 the "Entry Period"). To enter the Promotion, visit www.laconiv.org/2006/depts/brewster.htm or www.comicspage.com and click on the "Name the Rocket" contest link. Complete the Promotion entry form with all required information including your suggestion for the Brewster Rockit rocket name and submit it as instructed on-screen during the Entry Period. Alternatively, download an entry form from the web sites above or obtain an Entry Form at L.A.con IV, the World Science Fiction Convention to be held in Anaheim, CA from August 23--August 27, 2006 ("Worldcon"), fill out all the required information and deposit it in the entry box at Worldcon anytime during normal convention hours. The Entry Forms and Entry Box at Worldcon will be located at the 10-foot high papier mache rocket exhibit. Entries must be in English. All entries become the property of the Sponsors and will not be acknowledged or returned. No mechanically reproduced entries will be accepted. Limit one entry per person.

    Promotion is open to anyone twenty-one (21) years of age or older on the date of the entry. The entrant is the individual whose name and address appear on the entry submission. Only one (1) entrant's name may appear on an entry submission. In case of question, entries will be deemed made by the authorized account holder of the e-mail address submitted at the time of entry. The authorized account holder is defined as the natural person who is assigned to the e- mail address by an Internet access provider, on-line service provider, or other organization responsible for assigning e-mail addresses for the domain associated with the submitted e-mail address.

    Immediate family members and members of the households of employees of Tribune Media Services, Inc. (TMS), its parent company, affiliates, subsidiaries, distributors, retailers, advertising and promotion agencies and immediate family members and members of the households of Tim Rickard, the creator of the Brewster Rockit Comic Strip are not eligible. The Promotion is subject to all applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations. Void where prohibited by law. Tribune Media Services, Inc. (TMS), its parent company, affiliates, subsidiaries, distributors, and retailers, and Tim Rickard are hereinafter collectively referred to as the "Sponsors".

    Entry must be in keeping with Sponsors' and Brewster Rockit comic strip's image and may not be offensive, as determined by Sponsors in their sole discretion, nor can it defame or invade publicity rights or privacy of any person, living or deceased, or otherwise infringe upon any person's personal or proprietary rights, including but not limited to intellectual property rights, and the right to submit or use it shall not be restricted. Any entrant whose entry includes references to third parties or contains elements not owned by entrant (such as, but not limited to company or team trademarks) will be disqualified. Entries not complying in any way with these Official Rules are subject to disqualification.

  2. Rights Granted to Sponsors by Entry. Submission of an entry grants Sponsors the right to use, publish, adapt, assign, edit, dispose of, and/or modify the submitted rocket name in any way, in commerce and in any and all media worldwide, without limitation or compensation to the entrant, and entrant may be required to sign a release to that effect. Submission of an entry further constitutes the entrant's consent to irrevocably assign and transfer to the Sponsors any and all rights, title and interest in and to the proposed rocket name, including but not limited to all intellectual property rights therein. The winning name may be used, at the sole discretion of the Sponsors, as the official name of the rocket, but Sponsors are under no obligation to use the winning name in this or any other way. By entering, entrants acknowledge compliance with these Official Rules, including all eligibility requirements. Entrants hereby release Sponsors and its advertising and promotion agencies, and all of their respective employees, directors, officers, shareholders, agents, successors and assigns (collectively "Releasees"), from any claims, losses, actions, or damages, whether actual, incidental or consequential, arising out of or relating to entrant's participation in this Promotion, or the use or misuse of any prize, or participation in prize-related activities, including but not limited to travel related thereto. By accepting prize, winners grant Sponsors the right to use winners' name, likeness and biographical information for advertising, publicity, promotional and other purposes in commerce and in any media worldwide without limitation or additional compensation, unless prohibited by law.

  3. Prize(s). Three prizes will be awarded. The First Prize winner will receive one framed original art of the Brewster Rockit comic strip showing the winning rocket name, autographed by Tim Rickard, a Certificate of Authenticity and a Brewster Rockit Kit. Estimated Retail Value: $160.00. The Second and Third prize winners will each receive a Brewster Rockit Kit. Estimated Retail Value: $10.00.

  4. Winner Selection. The winners will be selected by Tim Rickard using the following criteria: 25% Originality; 25% Creativity; 25% Amusing; and 25% Cleverness. In the event that any one of the winning names has been submitted by multiple entrants, Sponsors shall randomly choose one entrant from among the duplicate entries received and that entrant shall be the winner. For example, if 12 entrants submit the name "AAA," and "AAA" is selected as one of the winning names, then the Sponsors will randomly choose one "AAA" entrant to be the winner. All other entrants who submitted the "AAA" name shall not be entitled to any prize. In the event of a tie, the Sponsors shall convene a panel of qualified judges who will determine the winner based on the criteria set forth above.

  5. Prize Notification/Winner Verification/Taxes and Other Details. Winners will be announced on Sunday, August 27, 2006 at Worldcon at a location and time to be announced. Winner(s) not notified at Worldcon will be notified by phone, e-mail and/or postal mail within seven days of selection and the winner(s) will be required to execute and return an affidavit of eligibility, liability release and, except where prohibited by law, a publicity release within seven (7) days of date printed on prize notification, or prize will be forfeited and an alternate winner selected. Prizes are non-transferable. No prize substitution or cash equivalent allowed except as provided herein. Sponsors reserve the right to award a prize (or portion thereof) of equal or greater value should featured prize (or portion thereof) become unavailable. All income taxes on prize are the responsibility of the winner. If prize notification letter or prize is returned as undeliverable or appropriate affidavit and releases are not received within the prescribed period, or winner(s) is deemed ineligible to receive the prize, the prize will be forfeited and awarded to an alternate winner.

  6. Sponsors reserve the right, in their sole discretion, to cancel or suspend this Promotion should virus, bugs, fraud or other causes beyond the control of the Sponsors corrupt the administration, security or proper play of the Promotion and in such case to award the prize from among eligible entries received as of the date of cancellation/suspension.

    CAUTION: ANY ATTEMPT BY AN INDIVIDUAL TO DELIBERATELY DAMAGE ANY WEBSITE OR UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THIS PROMOTION MAY BE A VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS. SHOULD SUCH AN ATTEMPT BE MADE, SPONSORS RESERVE THE RIGHT TO DISQUALIFY AND SEEK DAMAGES FROM ANY SUCH INDIVIDUAL TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.

    Sponsors assume no responsibility for the following: (i) electronic transmissions or entries that are lost, late, stolen, incomplete, illegible, damaged, garbled, destroyed, misdirected or not received by Sponsors or its agents for any reason; (ii) any problems or technical malfunctions, errors, omissions, interruptions, deletions, defects, delays in operation or transmission, communication failures or human error that may occur in the transmission, receipt or processing of entries, or for destruction of or unauthorized access to, or alteration of, entries; (iii) failed or unavailable hardware, network, software or telephone transmissions, damage to entrants' or any person's computer and/or its contents, or causes beyond Sponsors' reasonable control that jeopardize the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of this Promotion; (iv) any entries submitted in a manner that is not expressly allowed under these rules; all such entries will be disqualified; or (v) printing errors in these Official Rules or in any advertisements or correspondence in connection with this Promotion.

  7. Winners List. For the name of the winners send a self-addressed, stamped envelope to Tribune Media Services, Licensing Department, 435 North Michigan Avenue, Suite 1500, Chicago, IL 60611 by December 1, 2006.

  8. PRIVACY POLICY. Unless you opt out by checking the appropriate boxes on the entry form, Sponsors (TMS and Tim Rickard) will add your personally identifiable entry form information (name, (address -email and/or street address)) to Sponsors' registered comics fans lists. If you do not opt out, TMS may send you email regarding other TMS comics products. If you do not opt out, Tim Rickard may send you email concerning Brewster Rockit and any related projects.

    Each time you receive a commercial email message from TMS or Tim Rickard, if ever, you will have the opportunity to opt out of receiving future commercial email from them.

    Like other Internet publishers, TMS sometimes permits its advertising and promotional partners to email its registered users about services, features, products, and special or unique content that TMS believes might interest you. If you prefer not to receive email communications sent directly by our advertisers or promotional partners, please opt out by checking the appropriate box on the entry form. Tim Rickard will not share your personally identifiable information with anyone.

    Worldcon will have access to your entry form solely for purposes of transmitting your entry to Tim Rickard. Worldcon will not share the personally identifiable information provided on your entry form with anyone.
