L.A.con IV, the 64th World Science Fiction Convention will discontinue membership discounts for pre-supporters and site selection voters as of 1 January 2004.

If you voted in site selection for the 2006 Worldcon, conversion rates are as follows:

• L.A. in 2006 pre-supporters who voted convert to an attending membership at a maximum of $60; the amount varies depending on the number of "Skill Badges" (patches) collected). This maximum rate will increase to $80 as of 1 January 2004.
• Fellows of the Academy (Friends of the bid) who voted convert to an attending membership automatically, and may convert a child's Friend membership at no charge.
• Voters who did not pre-support convert to attending for $80, and may convert a child voter's membership at no charge.

If you pre-supported but did not vote, conversion rates are as follows:

• $115 for a full attending membership, $40 for a supporting or child's membership. (These rates will increase by $10 as of 1 January 2004.)
• For Fellows of the Academy (Friends of the bid): $40 for a full attending membership, $35 for a supporting membership. No charge for a child's membership. (These rates will increase by as much as $85 for an attending membership as of 1 January 2004.)

Child membership rates apply to those children who will be between 5 and 11 on 22-Aug-2006. Those under 5 as of that date are free. Child Memberships do not include publications or voting rights for the Hugo Awards or Site Selection. Persons 12 years old and older must have full memberships.
